Bad Habit Mystics 10-Pan Luxe Eyeshadow Collection ($24.00 for 0.63 oz.) includes 10 eyeshadows with six shades designed to be wet or dry with a brush and four shades designed to be used with fingertips. The latter four weren’t described to be used wet/dry, but it is the type of formula I’d expect to use either way, so for reference, I swatched those dry/wet. I don’t recommend using the matte shades wet as it seemed to make them harder to use–more prone to patchiness and difficult to blend out.
The matte eyeshadows were extremely powdery and felt thin, which made them have a ton of fallout when applied, have poor adhesion to the lid, and skip when blended as the color adhered unevenly and often disappeared when I tried to blend the color out. They had poor wear and lasted six to seven hours at best.
The Baked Powder shades were the easier shades to work with in the palette, but they had a drier, more loosely-pressed texture that made them more prone to fallout both during application and later on during wear, but they were pigmented, adhered evenly overall, and stayed on for seven to eight hours before creasing. The more shimmery Pressed Powders were dry, almost gritty in texture, which resulted in uneven application applied dry and they had to be used with a dampened brush just to be workable. These were harder to blend out and had some fallout as they dried down. They wore for six to seven hours on me.
I would say that the quality of the Bad Habit palette in general was disappointing — not worth the upcharge (worst palette I’ve tried from them) for their “Luxe” formula, which were some of the worst eyeshadows I’ve worked with this year.

Is Bad Habit Mystics a Dupe for Pat McGrath Subliminal Palette?
This palette looks extremely similar to Pat McGrath’s Subliminal Palette at a glance, but Bad Habit’s version performed significantly below the Pat McGrath palette. The Bad Habit matte eyeshadows were incredibly powdery and more prone to sheering out with some lifting or being challenging to blend out. The shimmery shades in the Mystics palette were chunkier with larger particles, so a shade like Illuminate ended up being brighter than the Pat McGrath version, but then a shade like Karma looked faded and lacked the vibrancy of Pat McGrath’s Blitz Blue. Bad Habit’s Essence wasn’t similar to Pat McGrath’s Lilac Dust in finish nor undertone. Bad Habit’s Altered State was significantly more shimmery than Pat McGrath’s Substance. You can view a side-by-side comparison between Pat McGrath Subliminal Palette vs. Bad Habit Mystics Palette. The shades more complex in Pat McGrath’s Subliminal palette are: Pale Gold 002, VR Violet, and Astral White; about half the palette are more basic neutrals. They are duochrome shades, and you could likely find more dupe possibilities with indie brands (like Fyrinnae) if you’re looking to replicate some of the effect of the Subliminal palette at a lower price point.

Bad Habit Eternal Luxe Eyeshadow

Eternal
Eternal is a soft, yellowed beige with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The consistency was soft, almost cream-like but chunky, which made it easiest to apply with a dampened to brush as this helped the product adhere smoothly to bare skin without being too thick. When I tried it with a dry brush, it had a tendency to look thicker on my lid and emphasized the texture on my lid. The color coverage did not vary between wet/dry application. It creased on me visibly after seven hours.

Bad Habit Resurrection Luxe Eyeshadow

Resurrection is a medium-dark taupe with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had sheer coverage applied dry, and it was semi-sheer when applied with a dampened brush. It wasn’t buildable, and it remained challenging to blend regardless of dry or wet application. There was a ton of fallout during application, and the color survived six hours on me before fading noticeably.

Bad Habit Essence Luxe Eyeshadow

Essence
Essence is a medium lavender with subtle, warm undertones and a pearl sheen. It had almost no coverage applied dry; I would consider it a worthless product if used dry, as it was dry, gritty, and sheer with no ability to build up and had a ton of fallout on my lid with no staying power (gone in an hour when I tried it dry). Applied with a dampened brush, it was nearly opaque, but I really had to press and push the product onto my lid to get even adhesion, and it did not blend out very easily. Applied wet, it lasted for seven hours.

Bad Habit Transcend Luxe Eyeshadow

Transcend
Transcend is a coppery-brown base with iridescent sparkle that shifted slightly from gold to green. The texture was slightly dry and dusty, but it applied well to bare skin with fingertips or a dampened brush. If I used a dry brush, it had some fallout but built up well. The eyeshadow blended out without much effort and stayed on for eight hours with some fallout over time.

Bad Habit Absolution Luxe Eyeshadow

Absolution
Absolution is a white gold that shifted from silver to yellow with a metallic finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation applied dry and opaque coverage when applied with a dampened brush. I did not feel like one had to use a fingertip to achieve pigmentation, but the pressure of fingertips seemed to minimize fallout when working with the eyeshadow (but so did a dampened brush). The texture was slightly drier and a bit loosely pressed in the pan. It wore well for eight hours but had some fallout while worn.

Bad Habit Pagan Luxe Eyeshadow

Pagan is a medium-dark black with a matte finish. It was extremely powdery and came away in clumps when I pressed my finger against the surface to see how it felt. It had a ton of fallout, blended out poorly, looked patchy, and noticeably faded within six hours. It was an extremely fussy black that resulted in a sooty under eye and little depth in my crease. When I tried it using a dampened brush, it did improve the pigmentation but still had some fallout; I really had to press and pat it onto my lid. As it dried down, it was harder to diffuse the edges but was more usable at least.

Bad Habit Altered State Luxe Eyeshadow

Altered State
Altered State is a medium-dark taupe with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The texture was drier, almost gritty, with noticeable sparkle/shimmer to the touch. It was very hard to work with dry with a brush as it had a ton of fallout and poor adhesion to bare skin. When I used a dampened brush, it improved the coverage (opaque!) and minimized initial fallout but made the base a little harder to diffuse and blend out, though at least it showed up on my lid that way. It started to look faded after six and a half hours on me.

Bad Habit Vision Luxe Eyeshadow

Vision is a soft brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a fairly soft, only slightly powdery texture–it was significantly better than the other matte shades in the palette–and less prone to sheering out and fallout compared the formulas used throughout this palette. The eyeshadow wore well for seven hours on me before fading noticeably.

Bad Habit Karma Luxe Eyeshadow

Karma
Karma is a deep blue with cool undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good color coverage applied dry but was truly opaque when applied with a dampened brush. The texture was fairly smooth, blendable, and was one of the easier shades to workk with in the palette, but it was prone to fading after applying it. At first, I thought I just over-blended, but after the third attempt to apply the color for vibrancy, it was obvious that it was how the eyeshadow was going to look perpetually–a bit faded. More navy blue than cobalt blue as it had initially appeared on my lash line. The color stayed on well for eight hours before creasing on me.

Illuminate is a bright white base with a duochrome that shifted from blue to teal. The consistency was a bit drier and a little dusty in the pan, but when patted onto the skin with a fingertip or a dampened brush, it applied evenly and had opaque coverage. It was extremely brightening! It was a little harder to diffuse the edges once on without getting a lot of fallout. It wore well for seven and a half hours before creasing but did not have continued fallout.
